Designed for Balance, Communication, and Performance
The TW Saddlery Western Dressage Saddle was designed for riders who want the precision and communication required for Western Dressage while still maintaining the comfort and security of a traditional western saddle.
Its balanced seat position, narrow twist, and close-contact design help riders stay centered and connected with their horse while allowing subtle cue communication throughout every transition, bend, and movement.
The medium pommel encourages proper hand placement while still providing excellent wither clearance and rider security. Combined with streamlined skirts and reduced bulk beneath the rider’s leg, the saddle creates a close-contact feel many riders appreciate both in the arena and out on the trail.
At approximately 23 lbs, the Western Dressage Saddle is significantly lighter than many traditional western saddles, reducing strain on both horse and rider during long rides, schooling sessions, clinics, and competition days.
Adjustable Fit for Changing Horses
The Western Dressage Saddle is built on TW Saddlery’s patented adjustable fitting system, allowing the saddle to continue adapting as your horse changes condition over time.
Each saddle includes fitting cushions and a full shim/insert kit to help fine-tune fit, balance, and pressure distribution across the horse’s back. Unlike traditional adjustable saddles that only change gullet width, the TW fitting system allows each side to be adjusted independently to better accommodate asymmetry, shoulder differences, muscle development, and seasonal condition changes.
The open spinal channel, shoulder flare, and adjustable support system help reduce pressure while encouraging freedom of movement, better topline development, and long-term comfort.
Built for Long Rides, Schooling Sessions, and Competition
The Western Dressage Saddle was designed to combine arena performance with the comfort riders need for everyday riding.
Its lightweight build and balanced rider position help reduce fatigue during long schooling rides and clinics, while the close-contact design allows riders to maintain better feel and communication throughout every ride.
Multiple skirt options are available, including styles that work especially well for short-backed horses while still promoting shoulder freedom and spinal clearance. Riders can also choose between English rigging with the double butterfly skirt or traditional western rigging depending on their riding style and preference.
Built from premium English bridle leather, the Western Dressage Saddle offers a soft, broken-in feel right out of the box while still providing the durability needed for everyday riding and competition use.
