“When I returned to horse ownership as an adult, I quickly realized how much had changed—especially when it came to saddle fit. As someone who loves big, stocky Quarter Horses but came from an English riding background, I struggled to find saddles that truly fit my horses. Everything changed when I met a TW Saddlery fitter at the 2021 Rancho Murieta Horse Expo.

During that time, I immersed myself in learning about equine anatomy, biomechanics, and saddle fit. I came to understand just how much an ill-fitting saddle can affect a horse’s comfort, behavior, and performance. I’ve owned horses that carried the scars of poor-fitting tack, and it reinforced how important proper saddle fit really is.

Today, I have four horses and several TW saddles. I love their lightweight design, exceptional comfort, and, most importantly, their adjustability. As my horses develop and change, my fitter visits twice a year to make any needed adjustments, ensuring each saddle continues to fit properly. If I weren’t so particular about matching saddles to each horse, I could easily fit most of them with one TW saddle simply by adjusting the fitting cushions and shims.
